Video: Warwick Academy Wins KPMG Challenge
A prize giving was held yesterday [May 13] at the Bermuda Society of Arts to announce the winners of the KPMG Senior School Investment Challenge. The annual competition sees teams from senior schools across the island invest a virtual $50,000 in the stock market over a six months period. Once completed, who ever makes the most cash wins $10,000 for their school.
Horan’s Hunters from Warwick Academy are this year’s winners out of a group of sixteen teams. The team won $10,000 for the school after finishing the challenge with $56,695.
The Saltus “Goldfingers” claimed second place with total of $56,099 while Bermuda High School’s “Common Cents” finished in third place with $55,492.
Teams were made up with students from the islands senior schools including Cedarbridge Academy, Berkeley Institute, Bermuda High School, Saltus Grammar, Mount St Agnes, Warwick Academy, Bermuda Institute and Somersfield Academy.
Speaking at the event were Wanda Armstrong, KPMG HR Manager and coordinator of the challenge, KPMG Partner Steve Woodward and Education Minister Dame Jennifer Smith.
