City: Sewage Line Temporarily Repaired

June 28, 2012

Further to the media statement issued earlier this week about the sewage line break, the City of Hamilton today [June 28] provided an update on the situation on Point Finger Road.

A spokesperson said, “Upon full investigation, the fault was found to be with a sewage line which connects into the City’s sewage force main and was not a result of the contractor working on the new hospital project damaging the existing line. The city apologizes for this error.

“In providing the update, the City of Hamilton added, the sewage line has been temporarily repaired pending the arrival of specialty parts and the trench has been temporarily reinstated. Motorists are urged to continue to use caution in the area.”
