KRyS Global Gives Back To Community

June 11, 2012

KRyS Global celebrates its fifth year anniversary this month. Along with its sister offices in Cayman, the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas, KRyS Global decided to do something different. Instead of champagne & fireworks, KRyS Global is giving back to the community.

Better known for chasing and procuring assets and distributing them to victims, through its corporate recovery, insolvency, forensic accounting and business advisory services, KRyS Global employed its expertise to seek out a community focused project and ‘give back’ to those less privileged on the Islands.

In Bermuda, this morning, KRyS Global joined forces with The Eliza DoLittle Society to provide food for 70 needy people. This initiative forms part of The Eliza DoLittle Society’s Daily Bread all-year-round food assistance programme.

The programme was launched in 2010 to tackle the plight of hunger that plagues an estimated 11 per cent of the island’s population. Six KRyS Global employees, alongside additional volunteers and food handling experts from Daily Bread, prepared and served the needy with a hot breakfast at the Anglican Cathedral on Church Street between 9am and 12.30pm.

Kenneth Krys, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, KRyS Global, is in Bermuda to volunteer his services for the event. He says: “As we mark five successful years at KRyS Global, we thought it was time to reflect and give back to those less fortunate. We really wanted to do something special and unique.

“In Bermuda we chose to partner with The Eliza DoLittle Society due to the phenomenal service it provides to those in need. Members of my team were also particularly impressed by the level of organisation and service delivery brought to the team by Terry Battersbee, the charity’s full-time Food Raising Coordinator. He is known to many as the happy, smiling face of Daily Bread and we were keen to support his endeavours.”

Margaret Ward, Director, The Eliza DoLittle Society, says: “We are very grateful to KRyS Global for supporting our Daily Bread feeding programme. Those affected by hunger span a huge cross-section of the community in numbers much higher than most people would imagine. We help not only the homeless, but also people who simply don’t have the physical ability to prepare food. We see ourselves as offering a hand-up rather than a hand-out to those who need it.”

There are a variety of activities taking place in the other jurisdictions where KRyS Global has a presence as part of the company’s fifth anniversary celebrations. In the Cayman Islands, KRyS Global is completing the home of a disadvantaged family with a roof installation and furniture, while in the British Virgin Islands the company is supporting a rugby initiative with an open day for schools. In the Bahamas, KRyS Global has chosen to support a feeding programme similar to The Eliza DoLittle Society in Bermuda.

The Eliza DoLittle Society welcomes other companies, organizations or individuals to participate in the Daily Bread programme by donating food, volunteering time or providing financial assistance.
