Local Umpires To Officiate ICC Match In Suriname

Bermuda’s Richard Austin and Kent Gibbons have been selected to officiate at the ICC Americas Region Division 2 Tournament to be played in Suriname later this month. In addition, Llewellyn Hall has been selected as an official scorer for the tournament.

Five teams including Argentina, Cayman Islands, Suriname, Bahamas and Belize will compete in this tournament. The winner will gain promotion to the ICC Americas U19 Division 1 Championship in 2013. The Championship will act as a qualifier for the ICC U19 World Cup to take place in UAE in 2014.

President of the Bermuda Cricket Board Lloyd Fray stated, “I would like to congratulate Richard, Kent and Llewellyn for their selection to officiate at the U19 Division 2 Tournament. This is a wonderful opportunity for our local umpires and scorers to gain valuable experience working with other high level officials.”
