Man Swallows Marijuana During Stop-n-Search
In Magistrates Court this morning [July 6], Yikunno Goater, 29, pleaded guilty to obstructing police on 25th May 2012 during a routine Police stop-n-search operation.
Carrington Mahoney, for the Crown, told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that Mr Goater and others had been in a car. On stopping the car, and once the windows had been rolled down, Police noticed a strong smell typical of marijuana being smoked.
During the initial questioning of the car’s occupants, Police observed Mr Goater take a small plastic bag, empty it into his mouth and then swallow the contents. Police noted that the contents appeared to be plant material.
Asked what he had just ingested, Mr Goater replied: “Marijuana”. Asked to open his mouth, he did so and Police saw traces of plant material still in his mouth. Mr Goater was arrested for obstructing the Police.
The Senior Magistrate fined Mr Goater $800.

I don’t agree with Legalizing it, but I would like to see it decriminalized. I hate seeing young lives ruined because they made a mistake to two.
