Andrew Bascome & Dennis Brown To Coach

August 15, 2012

The Bermuda Football Association announced the coaching staff that will be in charge of the Senior National Team for the CFU Digicel Caribbean Cup.

Andrew Bascome and Dennis Brown join the National Pool of coaches initially with specific responsibility for the CFU Digicel Cup. They will be assisted, as is the current protocol, by the pool of National Academy coaches.

Bermuda will be participating in a group that includes host Haiti, St. Martin (French) and Puerto Rico. The winner and runner-up will advance to the next stage.

This group originally contained the Cayman Islands who were to host the tournament from August 23rd – 30th. However, after informing the CFU Secretariat that their facility would not be available and eventually withdrew from the competition the Group was delayed to September 5th and Haiti volunteered to host.

A BFA spokesperson said: “This is the first assignment for Bascome as senior coach, his local record speaks for itself. Both Bascome and Brown played together on the national team and have been re-united as coaches.

“The Bermuda Football Association are excited about the appointment of Bascome and Brown as they look to continually improve internationally and meet the objective of being one of the elite nations within the CFU.”
