Transformer Moved To National Stadium

Yesterday [Aug 20] BELCO transported their new transformers from the docks and delivered them to the Sports Center North Field.

The two transformers travelled via flatbed truck, went up Front Street to Queen Street, then along Church Street to Cedar Avenue and then to the Stadium.

A BELCO spokesperson explained that the new transformers are sized to feed the entire stadium, including the new aquatic centre, plus the load currently supplied by the existing Prospect Substation to the surrounding area; the old Prospect Substation will be taken out of service once the new substation at National Stadium is completed.
