Tropical Storm Kirk Forms In The Atlantic

Tropical Storm Kirk — the 11th named storm of the 2012 Atlantic Season — has formed in the Atlantic. The Bermuda Weather Service [BWS] said that Tropical Storm Kirk is not a threat to Bermuda, and the storm’s closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 673 nautical miles to the east at 3am on Saturday September 1.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm late Tuesday night generated winds of 45 mph with higher gusts and that some strengthening is forecast during the next two days.
