The Spotlight Shines Bright On Local Talents

September 12, 2012

Promotion of Bermuda’s talents are always a major priority for CKC Spotlight Talent Agency, which is committed to providing affordable positive events for Bermuda’s community.

Following a successful Spotlight Performing Arts Summer Camp, which featured a popular weekly Friday night showcase for the community, Spotlight Talent Agency and CKC Cares Charity aim to take things to a new level for the months of September and October with the following events:

CKC Cares Charity presents the “Not The Ordinary” After-School Program which will commence on Monday, October 1, 2012 Monday-Friday from 3 – 6pm.

It is available to students aged 9 years and up. This program will be available for the entire school year for a fee of $50 per week/child.

Plus, children can be picked up from school and bought to the program for an additional $25.00 per week. The curriculum will feature a Homework Club [1 hour] and a 1½ hour workshop of dance, drama or modeling. We are also working on a voice instruction workshop for budding vocalists.

Parents will get a chance to see their children showcase their learned talents on the last Friday of the month. [September 28th and October 26th]. Interested parents may email info@ckccorporation or visit www.ckccorporation.com to register young people.

As part of the release of the Children’s, Teen and Prison Anthologies, CKC BOOKS presents an annual Children’s Poetry Showcase will be held on October 19, 2012 which will feature a selection of students who will read their submission(s).

The event will be hosted by teen entertainers, Marissa Trott and Angelis Hunt at a venue soon to be announced. Email info@ckccorporation.com for further information or to reserve seats.

Spotlight Talent Agency will hold two events to celebrate local artists. It’s “Ladies Night” on September 20th at the Berkeley Cultural Amphitheatre. The show will feature dulcet-toned Olivia Hamilton and hip-hop artist Imari Wade.

Bermuda’s youth talents take over on October 12th at the “No Similes” mix-tape release party featuring hip hop artist, Haz-ar-dous! Opening acts for the night include teen performers: Quinn Outerbridge (recently performed at Chewstick’s BeachFest) and BYGT finalists, Marissa Trott and AMM. Showtime for both of these events is 7:30-10:00 p.m. with a youth-friendly entry fee of only $5. Due to the limited amount of seating, which is 70-75 people, admission is available by RSVP only via email at info@ckccorporation.com.

A spokesperson said: “We encourage family, friends and the general public to come out and support these local artists to show them that their efforts and talents are appreciated. You will not be disappointed!”
