Tropical Storm Prompts Warning In Azores

A tropical storm warning is in effect for parts of the Azores today [Sept 19] as Tropical Storm Nadine churns its way through the Atlantic Ocean.

The Portuguese Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the islands including Sao Miguel and Santa Maria in the Azores. Nadine is carrying maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, and is about 270 miles west of the Azores, moving north north-east at 5 mph.

Nadine — the 14th named storm of the 2012 Atlantic Season — .is not expected to impact Bermuda.
