Airline Cancellations Continue On Wednesday

[Updated] Hurricane Sandy continues to impact flights, with reports saying over 12,000 flights have been cancelled worldwide due to the storm.

There are 10 Bermuda flights cancelled for Tuesday [Oct 30] thus far including Delta, US Airways, AirTran Airways, JetBlue Airways, United Airlines. For the latest news about Bermuda flights see Bernews.com/flights which updates with the latest flight status information every 12 minutes.

The storm — which spared Bermuda — has left a trail of devastation as it passed over the Caribbean and United States. CNN reports that over 7 million customers lost electricity, and Sandy also claimed at least 16 lives across the United States, bringing the total number of deaths to at least 84 after the storm wreaked havoc in the Caribbean.

Update Wed, Oct 31: There are six flights cancelled for today: JetBlue arriving/leaving for New York, United Airlines arriving/leaving for Newark, American Airlines arriving/leaving for New York.

    This news will be a great excuse for poor tourism figures in the next quarter. “Tourism figures for the last quarter are down because of the impact Hurricane Sandy had on flights for three days”
