Digicel Bermuda is sponsoring the Fraser Match Racing team in this year’s Argo Group Gold Cup, taking place October 2 -7.
The Fraser Match Racing team, formerly known as FreeLance Match Racing, has competed since 2009 in numerous international events. The team has risen from 550 to 264 in the world rankings this year. Lance Fraser, Jesse Kirkland, Jason Saints, and Jordan Saints are sailing with the team this year.
The skipper of the team, Lance Fraser, became the youngest skipper in history to compete in the World Match Race Tour when he competed in the 2010 Argo Group Gold Cup at the age of seventeen. Currently 19 years old, Fraser has been match racing for 4 years and is excited to compete in his third Argo Group Gold Cup.
“I would like to thank Digicel for their generous sponsorship of the team,” stated Mr. Fraser. “Our goal is to be ranked in the top 200 in the world and our success thus far has been made possible by sponsors, like Digicel, who provide financial support to our competitive sailing events.”
Shane McDonnell, Digicel Bermuda Sales Director, stated, “Digicel is proud to sponsor the Fraser Match Racing team. We wish them the best of luck as they compete against some of the world’s finest sailors in the Argo Group Gold Cup. Digicel is committed to developing youth sailing in Bermuda. We believe that Lance and his team are wonderful role models for young aspiring sailors across the island.”
