Heyliger Wins Swim Student-Athlete Award

Bermuda’s Rebecca Heyliger has been awarded the Swim Student-Athlete of the Month at the University of Southern California.

Ben Smith, Bermuda National Swim Coach said, “This is a wonderful achievement for Rebecca who constantly work so hard to achieve her goals. It is very well deserved and I am sure she will continue to do extremely well in both her studies and her swimming.”

Ms Heyliger is a 2012 freshman, majoring in international relations/global business and has been a longtime member of the Bermuda National Swim Team (2005-present). Amongst her other awards are the Bermuda Outstanding Teen in Sports in 2010 and the Sports R Us Athlete of the Year in 2008 and 2009.

She was also on her school’s Honor Roll from 2007-2010 and Represented Bermuda at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships and was a team captain in 2010 and competed at the Junior Pan-Pacs.
