Chamber Choir To Present Christmas Concert

November 15, 2012

The Bermuda Chamber Choir will be presenting a Christmas Repertoire of Traditional and Contemporary Music from around the world on Saturday December 1st at 7:30pm and Sunday December 2nd at 3.00pm at Wesley Methodist Church.

The centrepiece of this exhilarating programme is Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols. This work features the intricate vocal lines and ethereal melodies of one of Britten’s finest pieces.

Ceremony of Carols has a rich medieval sound with a modern twist and it is a glorious and uplifting, if unusual celebration of the Christmas story.

The Chamber Choir’s programme continues with a feast of traditional madrigals, carols and spirituals, as well as the cheerful and rhythmic sounds of contemporary versions of carols from around the world.

The Bermuda Chamber Choir, under the auspices of the Bermuda School of Music, is a community choir held in a classroom setting. Director Ron Campbell’s goal is to bring to the Bermuda community enriching and entertaining source of fine Choral music.

Sponsor’s tickets are $55, adult tickets $25 and students $15 and are available at www.ptix.bm and at the door.
