BCB Congratulates Emmerson Carrington

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] confirmed the West Indies Cricket Umpires’ Association [WICUA] results of its written exam for 2012. There were fifty-six candidates from WICUA member territories throughout the West Indies and the Americas who took the exam and forty-five were successful in passing this exam.

Bermuda’s lone candidate for 2012, Mr. Emmerson Carrington was one of the successful candidates.The Bermuda Umpires Association anticipates that Mr. Carrington will sit WICUA Oral & Practical Exam, December 2013, the final part of regional testing to becoming a fully qualified umpire.

President of the BCB Mr. Lloyd Fray stated, “On behalf of the Bermuda Cricket Board, I wish to extend our best wishes and congratulations to Mr. Carrington on successfully completing the WICUA exam. This achievement is fantastic news and of course in alignment with the BCB future direction to improving the standard of cricket in Bermuda.”

BCUA Secretary, Richard Austin stated, “The Bermuda Cricket Umpires’ Association (BCUA) congratulates umpire Emmerson Carrington for successfully passing WICUA’s 2012 Written Exam, another step in his path to being a fully qualified umpire.

“This is testament not only to Emmerson’s dedicated efforts to improving in his umpiring craft, but also to the contributions of his colleagues in particular BCUA Training Officer Roger Dill and the BCB especially for ensuring its competitions are played under current international playing conditions so that our umpires are prepared and capable at standing at the highest levels of the game.
