Educators Council Nominates Interim Chairman

November 15, 2012

The Bermuda Educators Council [BEC] today [Nov 15] said that following their first meeting on Wednesday November 7th, that Mr. Crenstant Williams, a teacher at the Harrington Sound Primary School, was nominated to serve as its interim Chairman.

A press statement said: “Noting the need to review the status of the Council, understand its remit and to plot the way forward, the Council members preferred not to formalise the Chair role at this time and instead will consider what needs to be accomplished to take the body forward.

“The first order of business will be to review the Bermuda Educators Council Act 2002, which governs the Council’s operations, and to review the status of educators’ licensing.

“The BEC advised that further information will be released to educators directly in the coming weeks.”
