Today’s Search For Dereck Spenser Suspended

Today’s [Nov 24] search for Dereck Spenser was suspended at around 4:45pm, with volunteers joining police personnel in the search effort.

Mr. Spenser, who lives with his wife on a houseboat, was last seen around 4:30pm on Wednesday [Nov 21] having left his job in the Dockyard area on his motorcycle. .”

The police previously said they believe the 49-year-old’s “general activity may have been disrupted and he may have fallen into difficulty in Ely’s Harbour.”

A police statement issued this evening said: ““Around 9am on Saturday, November 24th the marine and land search for Mr. Dereck Spenser resumed. However, despite all efforts of the assembled volunteers and police personnel, Mr. Spenser was not located.

“The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank everyone that assisted in today’s search efforts, which were suspended around 4:45pm. Inquiries into the disappearance of Mr. Spenser are ongoing and anyone with any information on his whereabouts or last known movements is encouraged to contact police on 295-0011.”
