Video: Dance Display At Latin American Expo
The Latin American Cultural Expo ‘Celebremos Nuestra Cultura’ was held on Sunday afternoon [Nov 3] at the Somersfield Academy, and saw dances, food, and displays highlighting Latin American culture.
All ten countries represented were Spanish speaking: Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.
Dances were performed on stage displaying a small bit of the heritage of the various countries. Before each dance, there was a short explanation or story that gave some insight into how the dance fitted into the country’s heritage and culture.

This was an amazing opportunity to learn more about each culture, taste their delicious foods and watch all the children enjoy the festivities. And also want to acknowledge the local musicians and percussionist who shared their talents as well. Special thanks to teams Puerto Rico, Cuba and Dominican Republic for including us in their celebrations. We will have pictures posted soon on Facebook. It was a great experience and can’t wait for next year.
