17-Year-Old In ICU After Traffic Collision

A 17-year-old male is in the Intensive Care Unit after a collision yesterday [Dec 5] on Middle Road in Southampton.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 7:45am on Wednesday, December 5th police and first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Tribe Road #2 involving a SUV and an auxiliary cycle.

“It appears that the SUV was being driven along Middle Road and the auxiliary cycle was being ridden along the same road when the vehicles collided.

“The auxiliary cycle rider, a 17 year old Sandys parish man, was apparently seriously injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in the Intensive Care Unit.

“There were no other injuries reported. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Jason Ming at the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.”
