BDOT Hosts UK, Canada Travel Professionals

December 5, 2012

The Bermuda Hotel Association and the Bermuda Department of Tourism recently partnered with British Airways to host 50 travel professionals and tour operators from the United Kingdom from November 29 – December 1, 2012.

At the same time a group of 5 Canadian agents and a representative from Air Canada were also on island and joined the agents from the UK for several events. The host hotels were Grotto Bay Beach Resort, Rosewood Tuckers Point, Elbow Beach and Fairmont Southampton. The Bermuda Hotel Association and our local restaurants also sponsored lunches and dinners for the Agents.

During their visit, the Travel Professionals and Tour Operators enjoyed the ultimate Bermuda experience with a showcase featuring the best of Bermuda including luxury properties, first class dining, local arts & crafts and historical sites.

Minister of Business Development and Tourism Wayne Furbert and Chairman of Tourism Board, the Hon. Maxwell Burgess hosted a reception at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, and on arrival the guests were greeted by H & H Gombeys.
