Fire Causes Reid Street Traffic Restriction

[Updated] The section of Reid Street between King Street and Court Street has been closed to motorists and pedestrians until further notice, while the structure of the old Canadian Hotel building is addressed following last night’s fire.

A police spokesperson said: “Motorists and pedestrians are advised that until further notice the section of Reid Street between King Street and Court Street is closed as a precaution while structural issues regarding the old Canadian Hotel building damaged in Wednesday night’s fire are addressed.”

“The Bermuda Police Service appreciates the public’s continued cooperation and patience as traffic delays are anticipated in the area as a result.”

Update 3.56pm:The police said that Reid Street between King Street and Court Street has returned to having one lane open to traffic.
