“Games + Flix” Store Going Out Of Business

December 2, 2012

Games & Flix on Dundonald Street hosted a liquidation sale — selling DVDs for only $1 last week — after the owner Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone decided to close the business.

By Friday the shelves were extremely bare, with consumers having taken advantage of the liquidation prices snapping up low cost DVDs and games.

Ms Ramsay-Brackstone said she made the decision following the unfortunate death of her husband Kirby Brackstone, who died recently at only 43-years-old.

She also said that business had decreased, and she decided to concentrate on her other business — the Bermuda Perfumery, which she owns and operates in St. George’s.

It was right next to BIPoo gas station. You never saw the the 1′x6″ sign 50ft from the road in their parking lot? I guess they had to close because of the economic recovery. Unfortunately technology is killing these types of businesses. Why woud I get up an go to the store to buy an $80 game when I can sit on my fat ass and order it online for $50 directly to my PS3 or computer, why would I go to the store to get a movie when I can stream it on Netflix with out ever moving off my fat ass? Sorry to see your store close but it is what it is, pretty soon all retail will be sold online…and you probably won’t have to get off your fat ass to get it either, besides going to to your door to collect it… Humans are f@ckin lazy creatures. But the world keeps spinning as the rich get richer and consumers are confined to their homes with mindless goods and services. Has anyone in power ever thought to take a step back and reassess life?

As stated in the article, one of the owners recently died, tragically very young. That’s why the business is closing.
