December 6, 2012

The Department of Statistics released the Consumer Price Index today, which showed that consumers paid 1.7% more in October 2012 than they did a year ago for the basket of goods and services included in the Consumer Price Index. This rate of inflation decreased from the 1.9% measured in September 2012.

Between September and October 2012, the average cost of goods and services in the Consumer Price Index increased 0.3 per cent. The all-items index increased to 120.9 index points in October. This means that the basket of goods and services that cost $100.00 in April 2006 now cost $120.90.

Great news, unless your take home pay hasn’t increased by at least 20% since 2006. Somehow I doubt many fall into this category so they are worse off.

I make less now than I did five years ago and I have more to do. AND there are bunch of people doing nothing complaining they aren’t given enough for they deserve more apparently because they can breathe in and out and have kids.

This island is a steam train. Some people are up front shovelling coal in the engine the best they can to keep it moving. Then there are people sitting in the back of the train complaining that they arent getting where they need to go fast enough and the seat isnt comfy enough and where is my meal etc and those of us shovelling coal in the engine are darn TIRED of them complaining all the time when they should be helping!

That is why I want change.
