Police Reminder: Handing In Lost Property

February 6, 2013

The Bermuda Police Service has reminded the public that any personal property found by someone other than the lawful owner should be turned into the nearest police station.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is aware that in some cases, lost personal property has been turned in to radio stations in an attempt to reunite the item(s) with the rightful owner.

“However, any personal property found by someone other than the lawful owner should be turned into the nearest police station, so that it can be appropriately logged and suitable attempts can be made to find the rightful owner.”

  1. Seriously? says:

The sensible thing for the Police to say would be when you notify the Radio Station, tell the owners to retrieve the lost item at the named police station.

What’s up with all this police belly aching lately? I would think that as long as the item is turned in they would be happy. I thought this article was going to tell people it’s illegal to keep something they found, not to say don’t take it to the radio station.
