Track & Field Athletes Reach CARIFTA Standards

The Bermuda National Athletics Association held their fourth track meet of the year on Sunday [Feb 3] at the National Sports Center, with the event seeing additional athletes reaching the CARIFTA Standard.

During the Under 17 Girls 1500m run Kyrah Scraders reached the A Standard clocking a time of 4:55.11, while Quaashie Douglas clocked 5:17.66 which is the B Standard.

Tiara DeRosa once again threw the A Standard in the Under 17 Girls Shot Put with a toss of 10.78m, DeRosa also qualified for another event this time throwing the A Standard in the Under 17 Girls Discus with a toss of 32.30m.

A week after reaching the B Standard during the Under 17 Girls High Jump with a leap of 1.59m, Sakari Famous reached the A Standard with a leap of 1.64m, meanwhile Chase Smith reached the B Standard for the Under 20 Boy’s High Jump leaping 1.90m.
