Videos: CedarBridge Honours Nahki Wells

February 20, 2013

Family members of Nahki Wells joined students and staff at CedarBridge Academy this morning [Feb 20] where a Special Assembly was held to wish the 22-year-old footballer good luck this Sunday [Feb 24] in the the Capital One Cup Final.

Wells — with 18 goals so far this season — is the leading scorer for Bradford City and one of the top scorers in all of League Two. He is a former CedarBridge student, and the students and staff were beaming with excitement as they wished their former student well as he prepares to play at one of the world’s most prestigious venues.

Wells and his Bradford City team will be facing Swansea in the Capital One Cup Final on Sunday at Wembley. Bradford beat three Premier League teams on their way to the final. After taking out Wigan and Arsenal via penalty kicks, they outplayed Aston Villa to advance to the final.

A plaque was presented to Nahki’s mother Elizabeth Simmons in recognition of his sporting career success, and a CedarBridge Academy Nahki Wells sports jersey was presented to the footballer’s grandparents with a request that Wells signs the jersey and when it is returned, the jersey will be framed and hung at CedarBridge.
