Amateur Ballroom Dancers Heading To Bermuda

March 21, 2013

Amateur Ballroom dancers from throughout the United States will cha-cha, fox-trot, quick step and hustle their way to Bermuda this fall for the USA Dance’s Fifth National Dance Cruise, September 29-October 6, aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Explorer of the Seas.

As many as 200 ballroom dancers, ranging from beginners to advanced, are expected to participate in more than 60 workshops and a wide variety of social dancing activities during the one week cruise departing from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, NJ.

The cruise will feature a full schedule of ballroom, Latin and club-style dance classes as well as USA Dance’s popular Dance Host program for single ladies.

“A dance cruise like this is a great opportunity for social dancers of all levels — Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced — to learn and improve their technique and skills,” said Jean Krupa , Social Dance Vice President for USA Dance, the parent organization of ballroom dancing in the United States.

“At the same time, they’ll get to meet and socialize with others who share their love for all things dance.”

The cruise will also feature two of America’s premier dance instructors, Dan and Silke Calloway of Bethesda, Maryland, who recently performed for President and Mrs. Obama at the White House.

The Calloways are former Asian Pacific and United States Professional Ten-Dance Grand Finalists. Prices start at $999 per person, double occupancy, and include all workshops and social events.
