Cambridge Beaches Resort Makes Top 10 List

March 27, 2013

Bermuda’s Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa was this morning featured in a “USA Today” travel section list titled “Rooms With A View: Ten Amazing Hotel Vistas.”

Compiled by the publication’s partner Oyster.com — a leading online source for independent hotel reviews — the West End property was ranked among “the best hotel room views we’ve ever seen.”

“During our travels around the globe, we have stayed in some pretty gorgeous rooms,” said the newspaper. “But a beautiful room means nothing if it looks out at a brick wall.

“On the other hand, a drab room can be seriously lightened up by an amazing view. So we rounded the 10 best hotel room views we’ve ever seen.”

“USA Today” described Cambridge Beaches as having “a trendy, sexy vibe while still maintaining quaint touches from its history as a sea captain’s home.

The newspaper continued: “The hotel boasts four private beaches, and with these turquoise waters more typical of the Caribbean than of the North Atlantic, it’s no wonder the resort, and Bermuda in general, is popular among celebrities who want stay away from the crowds without having to give up the crystalline waters and the gorgeous beaches of destinations further south.”

The other hotels which made Oyster.com’s top ten list were Hotel Duquesne Eiffel, Paris; Villa la Estancia, Los Cabos; Spring Creek Ranch, Jackson Hole; Arenal Kioro Suites and Spa, Costa Rica; Mandarin Oriental, New York City; Ambassade Hotel, Amsterdam; The Regent Grand, Turks and Caicos; Resort at Squaw Creek, Lake Tahoe and Jade Mountain Resort, St. Lucia.

    Congratulation!

  2. swing voter says:

Well done Cambridge. But We really need a resort to attract the hamburger and hotdog tourists if we are seriously gonna compete with Santo, Bahamas, Cayman, Jamaica Cancun resorts. Sandals, Beaches, ClubMed will never build here if we continue to set the tourism bar for high end vacation only.

    • agreed says:

yes, and all inclusive would be an advantage

      • Justine says:

I’m torn on the all-inc thing. I agree it would attract more air arrivals, but would they leave the resort and spend? My family and I do when we go all-inc, but many we’ve met don’t.

now…only if we can make it affordable maybe we can fill them

mann that looks good. i need a weekend out there!

  7. Justine says:

@worker – GO!! It’s my favorite staycation, I always try to get a weekend there in the summer. The spa is divine, the views breathtaking, the food wonderful, and as it’s tucked out the way a bit, you don’t arrive and find 12 cousins, your Auntie and 15 old school friends there hahaha. It’s also a fraction of the cost of Rosewood Tuckers – which I find overpriced!

  8. Justine says:

PS – Congrats Cambridge Beaches, very well deserved.

  9. Bermudian Overseas says:

Cambridge Beaches has always been a STAR! Long may you continue to shine. Congratulations on a well-deserved and well-earned recognition. Many other local sites could learn from you.

  10. Did he do it? says:

The Reefs need to give serious specials to locals! They make a killing off of Bermudians on weekends. Drive past South Shore on a Sunday and you will see cars all over the place from morning till evening! Every weekend throughout the winter.

    • Um Um Like says:

If they’re making a killing then why would they reduce their prices?

  11. Come On Man! says:

most places reduce their rates during the slow season

@Swing Voter: Cambridge Beaches’ clientelle is NOT the hamburger/hot dog tourist. The Clintons stay there when they come…I mean seriously. It’s a high end AWESOME hotel that does very well with its target population. I can’t stay in Trump Towers because I cannot afford it…but Jay Z can. Let’s be real. Cambridge Beaches is top notch in property/rooms and customer service and does not need to lower prices to cater to clientelle that they are not trying to attract. As for these three star places with five star price tags? They should be paying attention. Understand your market and do well within that market. Well done, Cambridge Beaches.
