Motorcyclist Arrested For DUI After Crash

A 32-year-old motorcyclist was arrested at around 11:45pm on Friday [Mar 1] after he crashed into a traffic island in the North Shore Road and Palmetto Road junction in Devonshire.

The police said, “It appears that the auxiliary cycle rider, a 32 year old Devonshire man, collided with a traffic island at the junction of North Shore Road and Palmetto Road. The rider was injured, taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and released.

“The Devonshire man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained. The auxiliary cycle was extensively damaged. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”
