Videos: 2013 St Baldrick’s Head Shaving Events

March 18, 2013

Hundreds of thousands of dollars was raised this past Friday, as dozens of people — young and old — stepped up to have their heads shaved as part of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser to find a cure for childhood cancer.

The event has been held each year in Bermuda since 2002, and sees participants obtain financial pledges in exchange for shaving their heads.

The day kicked off with over 40 students of Saltus Grammar School shaving their heads, an effort which raised over $110,000. The day continues with the ‘main event’ held at the BAA gymnasium, which saw crowds pack the gym to support the shavees.

The online pledge sheet shows that over $200,000 was raised at this year’s event. You can view photo galleries and additional coverage of this year, and past years, St Baldrick’s events here.
