Antwan Russell Scores Twice In Ilkeston Win

April 25, 2013

Bermudian Antwan Russell continues to make a strong showing over in the UK at the Ilkeston Football Club, scoring two goals in yesterday’s 4-0 victory over Whitby. All four goals came in the space of 16 second half minutes.

Ilkeston faced a challenge during the game when goalkeeper Scott Low took a hard bang on the head in the opening minutes. With no substitute goalkeeper on the bench, top-scorer Aaron Hooton took over the goal while Low was taken to hospital. However the defenders protected the stand-in goalkeeper superbly, blocking out all goals from the opposing team.

Russell recently joined Ilkeston as part of a partnership between the club and Bermuda Hogges Football team. He is joined by Bermudian Lejaun Simmons, with both Bermuda players making a strong impact, having scored three goals each for Ilkeston thus far.
