April 5, 2013

Chairman of the National Sports Centre Board of Trustees, Sean Tucker joined Minister of Community & Cultural Development Wayne Scott to give an update on the recently filled pool at the Aquatics Centre.

Mr Tucker said, “We are testing and commissioning all the pumps and filters and that’s going to take us another few weeks. It will go through a soft launch initially for the first month or so and then hopefully have a grand opening at some time in June. We will be ready for the Island Games without a doubt and we’re excited about this facility.”

Minister Scott then went about challenging the Chairman to join him in christening the pool off the dive platform. Though surprised by the offer, Mr Tucker accepted the challenge but insisted that there be rules.

“You can’t hold your nose we you jump off and your eyes have to be open”, said Mr Tucker. Both agreed there would be no footers and no belly-busters.

Nobody wants to see these jokers christen anything dun. Where are the athletes? This marketing is stupid. Get Miss. Horton the diver and roy burch the swimmer who are a real role model for kids not overpaid government officials to be first in and sign autographs or something. Jokers.
