Upcoming: East End Urban Foot Race

UrbanGet ready for the Urban Foot Race, Bermuda’s first urban steeple-chase.

Organised by Island Challenge — a not-for-profit company which seeks to raise money for Bermudian charities through adventure/excursion challenge events — the Urban Foot Race will get underway at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 28 in St. George’s.

It is part of the Bermuda Triple Challenge, a three-part series which also includes the Island Challenge and the upcoming Royal Challenge in Dockyard.

At the end of the series, the fittest for charity will be crowned, aggregating each of the events’ points.

Organisers are Aideen Ratteray Pryse, Jason Correia and Reid Robinson.

The Urban Foot Race is open to teams of two – men, women, boys and girls ages 14 and up.

Starting at the top of Barrack Hill and finishing in King’s Square, the 5km route follows the roads of the Olde Towne.

“Both team members will be are required to clear 18 obstacles in all; obstacles will be kept as a secret and only provided on race day,” said a spokesman. “There will be marshals on the course pointing contestants in the right directions, so don’t worry, you will not get lost!”

Once registered, online donations for teams will be available at www.ptix.bm Please allow for overnight processing. Within Premier Tickets, look for the Urban Foot Race, select “Get Tickets”, then choose the team you wish to support.
