AQR Re Expands Its Bermuda Presence
AQR Re reported on Monday [May 13] that it has hired two new executives to expand its presence in Bermuda, former Renaissance Re executive John Lummis as CEO and ex-Aon Benfield broker Paul Karon as vice chairman.
Mr. Lummis was formerly chief operating officer and chief financial officer at RenaissanceRe, where he worked from 1997-2006.
More recently he has advised various hedge fund and private equity funds on insurance investing through his role at Soncy Corporation.
Mr. Karon was CEO and chief operating officer at Benfield before its acquisition by the Chicago-based Aon Corporation in 2008.
Bermuda-based AQR Re is the reinsurance arm of Greenwich, Connecticut investment management firm AQR Capital Management.
