Basketball: Bermuda Defeat Buffalo Warriors
The Bermuda Men’s National Basketball team registered a 94 – 89 win over the Buffalo Warrior in overtime in a very hard physical game.
Bermuda at one point held a 22 point lead, but that was wilted down to 12 with 3 minutes to play. The Buffalo Warriors — a full time professional basketball team — made several 3 pointers late in the game to wipe out the 12 point lead Bermuda held to send the game into overtime.
Bermuda regrouped and pulled it out with some good defense outscoring Buffalo 16 – 9 in the overtime period to record the victory.
Chris Crumpler led Bermuda to victory with 21 points, while Sullivan Phillips added 19 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Crumpler, John Lee and Te’Jour Riley all had 3 steals each, while Dean Jones recorded 3 blocked shots.
