Collie Buddz Collaborates With Snoop Lion

May 2, 2013

Snoop_Lion_ReincarnatedBermudian singer Collie Buddz has collaborated with American recording artist Snoop Lion — formerly known as Snoop Dogg — for a song on his latest album “Reincarnated”.

The 12-track album features collaborations with Mavado, Busta Rhymes, Mr Vegas, British pop singer Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus, Akon, Canadian rapper Drake as well as Bermuda’s Collie Buddz.

Snoop first emerged in 1993 with the hugely successful album “Doggystyle”, and has a string of hits including Gin & Juice, What’s My Name and many more.

Last year he converted to Rastafarianism, following his spiritual journey to Jamaica. Speaking to the Guardian, he said Rastafarianism has changed him. “I used to answer hate with hate. Like if you hate me, I hate you more. But now I answer hate with love,” he said.

The conversion was not well recieved by everyone, with Bunny Wailer — a former member of Bob Marley and the Wailers — telling TMZ Snoop has engaged in “outright fraudulent use of Rastafari Community’s personalities and symbolism”.

The album is the twelfth studio album by the American recording artist, and the first under his moniker Snoop Lion. “Reincarnation” debuted at number one on Billboard’s Reggae Album Chart, and at number 16 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, selling 21,301 copies in its first week.
