[Live stream over] The christening of the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship is taking place today [May 8] in New York. After a building period of 18 months, the ship left Germany and made the transatlantic cruise to New York arriving yesterday morning.

The ship’s first cruise will be to Bermuda, and it will arrive on May 15th. The 1063-foot long ship will be the largest cruise ship to ever visit the island, and is expected to be carrying around 4,000 passengers. Work has been ongoing at the Heritage Wharf in Dockyard to prepare for the ship’s arrival.
