The photographer for the above shoot was Donovin Seymour Photography, the photo editor was Tekoa Photography, the makeup was by O’Faces, the hair was by Impressions, and the photos were shot on location at the Elbow Beach Resort.

The pageant was brought back from a long hiatus in 2011, when Jana Lynn Outerbridge won the title and represented the island at the Miss World Pageant in London. Last year Rochelle Minors won the title, and traveled to China to compete in the 2012 Miss World Pageant.

Southampton and Smiths for me please!

  2. DarkSideofTheMoon says:

    booooooingg

    • Judge Dredd says:

How wonderful it is to have such ‘liberated’ women who have achieved the very honorable ‘meat’ status in our society! Ahh the buttoxes the breastices, the camel toes. How empowered our women are, submitting to male depravity and strutting in the threads men have designed for them! Using their sexuality to conquer all flacid members with firmness. Confusing their sexuality with femininity. Objectifying the latter by dressing it with the former. Oh how empowered our women are who do not fit the bill and the bra. Boooooingg appeal or no deal. We can’t see you. You are unknown. You are veiled in nakedness. I can’t see you. I can’t know you. BOOOOOOINGGG!

      • Lighten up says:

        Reads first 10 words: *Yawn*

        • Black says:

LMAO!. Judge Dredd wishes he was a “liberated woman”.

      • Black says:

Shut THE hell up and date men you closet case!

        • Judge Dredd says:

, said the dignified woman to Black as she unintentionally emasculated him with her self respect. He wasn’t used to engaging real women who weren’t in need of his approval. His eyes glazed over her figure hoping to catch a crevice or cleavage, anything that would satisfy his familiar feeling of intellectual superiority to mere objects created for his gratification. When he found none, he departed in terror, utterly vanquished. For he could see a soul, a mind which pierced into his emptiness and placed his inner desolation before his very eyes. “She’s right”, he thought within himself. “If all women did this, I would either have to be a man, or date a man”.

          • Black says:

You need to lay off whatever drugs you use to numb the pain of those “demons” you are trying to suppress. ‘Cause ya know, the good book tells you that blood rush to your penis you get when you see an attractive man is wrong. Not once did I say I was a man, dreamer. I see you just swapped out your name and put mine. Nice life story bro!

You jealous you can’t wear a pretty little bathing suit sweetheart?

            • Judge Dredd says:

              You’re a woman? Pre-op or post?

              • Black says:

Shouldn’t you be asking your “wife” that? Nice deflection too, homo.

                • Judge Dredd says:

                  Pre-op or post?

                  • Black says:

You jealous you can’t wear a pretty bikini sweetheart?

            • Judge Dredd says:

This from a “woman” who drools over watching other women in pretty little bikinis and knows a little too much about blood rushes to the penis. Lmao. I’m going to safely assume that you have one.

              • Black says:

You were so sensitive to me calling you a homosexual you had to come back and reply AGAIN? At 7am on a Saturday morning? How sad are you. The fella doth protest too much, methinks.

Since when do you have to be a man to know the basics of human biology?

As for your idiotic “pre-op or post-op” question. If, hypothetically speaking someone was a “pre-op” woman, do tell me why would they still be referring to themselves as a woman? Dumba#s. I guess that was another pathetic case of projection on your part? Don’t worry, one day you’ll have enough money for your surgery.

I bet you are one of those guys who wears his wife’s panties and heels around the house when she isn’t home. Then splashed all over social media. Seems to be common in Bermuda ;)

                Stay angry, Alexis Arquette!

      • idunneeno says:

        tl;dr

  3. Sharmaine says:

Yay! Finally! I can’t wait ’till Jubne 23rd to see them in action! Based on the photos though I love Miss Sandy’s look – strong and confident looking :) Good luck to all the ladies!

  4. swing voter says:

wat can I say….big IS beautiful;-)

  5. Benevolous says:

Mercy, this is the best we have to offer Bermuda? Miss Southampton and Smiths would get it, mind you.

    • .am says:

You have to factor in that most people of age leave the island for university, and ..well.. the competition kind of holds limited appeal. Overseas, girls are groomed for it from a very young age.

      • Rachel says:

This is very true. Bermuda has so many gorgeous girls, if the auditions were during a time uni students were back home the standard would be a lot higher!
With that said, Miss Sandys is beautiful!

  6. Ms. Bermuda 2013 says:

I believe, based on their looks, the best contestant to COMPETE at Ms. World would be Miss Smiths. Would be interesting to have her represent our country at the international event.

    Ms. Bermuda 2013

  7. Selective Amnesia says:

    All the ladies are Winners!!!

    • jon says:

yea ofcourse they are, just like no kids lose at sports, no wonder kids today dont know how to handle losing..

      • RME says:

Took the words right out of my mouth.

      • taikwandoerame says:

@jon I see your point. Someone should have pointed out that people that make comments like yours ARE losers. Someone should have told you…could’ve saved you some embarrassment in your lifetime.

  8. Keepinitreal says:

OMG….Finally!!! You ALL Look beautiful….Good Luck!!! Miss SANDYS Has this By FAR!!!! NICE Photos ladies!!!

  9. RME says:

I say Miss Pembroke or Miss Smith’s. Both would do really well on the international stage. Especially Smith’s. Miss Sandys is beautiful but sadly I think there is a bias in international competitions that go against women with short hair. Not fair but it happens.

  10. South Bred says:

Miss Southampton is where its at!!! Go head ma!

  11. Jim Bob says:

Is this the Ms. Big and (marginally) Beautiful competition or is this the Ms. Bermuda comeptition? I cannot believe that this the best we have to offer. I have seen better looking women in Cario on a Friday night. I hate to break the new to all the ladies and everyone else but Bermuda will NEVER win Ms. World if this is the calibre of contestants we are offering.

    • Um Um Like says:

How about your wife enter then?

      • Jim Bob says:

Sorry, she has a little more class than to do such a thing.

It looks like the only runway that would be able to accomodate some of these ladies is the runway at LF Wade Interational Airport.

        • Helpful says:

Translation of comment from “Jim Bob”: I am not married and can’t even get a date which is why I sit here saying nasty things.

          • crystal says:

Jim Bob speaks the truth. It doesn’t matter what his wife looks like she aint advertising herself as some kinna role model. It is important for Ms Bermuda to promote a healthy lifestyle and some of these girls are sending the wrong message!

  12. Second says:

Sorry they can’t all be winners – my choices for short list are Sandys, Warwick, Pembroke

  13. Always Watching says:

go ms. southampton you have my vote.

  14. In the Thick of Things says:

All of the ladies look lovely, but I have to admit that the ‘thick madams’ would benefit from an exercise regime before the contest and can hopefully shed a few pounds.

My picks for Miss Bermuda, Miss Southampton (you have a great bod and Beautiful skin!!) and Miss Warwick.

    Strut your stuff ladies!!

    • swing voter says:

If I held the franchise, the thickuns would win all the time

  15. Ms. Bermuda 2013 says:

Miss Southampton is quite attractive, but she will not do well in the international competition (those are just hard facts). She does not have a model or typical pageant frame – - which will hinder her chances at Miss World – sad, but true.

Miss Smith, based on these photos only (more info is needed, of course), is the only contestant who will be able to compete where we, Bermuda, will have any chance of placing in the competition.

    Ms. Bermuda 2013

    • In the Thick of Things says:

@Ms.Bermuda 2013..LOL.. you are a joke…LOL model frame..Miss Southmapton has a great bod..long and lean and big boobs.I don’t see anything wrong with her body on her..she is in great shape..photos do not lie!!… hope that she will articulate well and is educated.

Please Miss Bda 2013, beacuse you have already given yourself the auspicious title, why did you not enter…maybe you are a boy and not a girl..or maybe your banner has the wrong date on it..LOL!!
Maybe it should read, Miss Bermuda Please Don’t Enter 2013!

      • .am says:

If you read something other than King or Smooth, you’d know what a real model looked like.

        • Robert Daniels says:

Ms. Bermuda is not about models is it?

  16. LOL(original TM*) says:

Southampton hands down or up, next Warwick. Pembroke and Hamilton very pretty faces.

    LOL those are my picks

  17. john says:

    Southampton and Warwick

  18. mixitup says:

Miss Southampton is Banging!! O_O Dat body is on point!

  19. Sweetk says:

Miss Sandy’s al the way. Her photo is marvelous and her.

  20. Warden says:

Miss bermuda is a joke. This is who u pick to represent us.. wtf..

  21. Patricia says:

Hello, correct me if I am wrong but the article says the photo editor was Tekoa Photography. That to me means the photos were ‘touched up’. They all do look lovely but I know one contestant and this photo does a lot for her. I have to agree that the overseas contest doesnt look kindly on women with short hair. Unfortunate, but I think its a reality and my pick out of all would be Ms. Sandys. But the overseas competion is so fierce and competitive and therefore looks will get you nowhere. They all better be well educated, speak eloquently and speaking more than one language would be great. Sorry, our ladies may strutt their stuff for the competition here but we wont stand a chance overseas.

    • In the Thick of Things says:

@ Patricia..have you been selected as one of the judges??…if not, then please wait until the new Miss Bermuda has been selected!

I think all of the ladies should be applauded to have the courage and self esteem to be able to compete in their home and should be given all the encouragement and support that they deserve whether they win on an international level or not.

    • .am says:

It may be worth noting that, by definition, a photo editor and a retoucher are not one and the same. ALL of the big newspapers have photo editors – but retouching would compromise the integrity of a photo, so it logically carries a different meaning.

If Tekoa made the selections then that would make him a photo editor. If he altered the files in any way, then that would make him a retoucher.

Regardless – all photos are ‘touched up’ in one way or another. Raw files are devoid of color and contrast – so to make something publishable, adjustments do need to be made. Even if you don’t shoot raw, these changes are being made within the camera.

  22. Evie says:

Miss Bermuda is selected from those brave young ladies who are willing to step forward even with all the negative comments made about them. Perhaps there would be more ladies if they knew that they would be supported as their country’s representative as opposed to some shooting them down based on a photo alone. To the ladies, I wish you all the best. You will all grow from this experience no matter who wins.

    • .am says:

Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. It’s all about standards. If Harvard let people with a 1.3 GPA in – and they supported them – would that attract the 4.0s?

To have a higher standard compete, you have to deny the lower ones that chance. As long as the lower ones are given the chance, the higher ones will never take the competition seriously.

      • bdabdabda says:

I could not agree less.. The organizers and the judges should look at the delegates of the other countries, its easy to surf the net… so they can set up at least a minimum standard so this island could be competitive in international pageant

        • .am says:

I don’t understand. You couldn’t agree less.. but then you go and make the same point as me?

I’m going to need a little help wrapping my head around that logic.

  23. Patricia P says:

Good luck to you all and 10 out of 10 for making the effort to enter! Disregard all negative comments!! I think you all deserve a big ‘well done’! I particularly like Miss Southampton and Miss Warwick!!

  24. Benevolous says:

Dayum! Which one of the contestants ate Ms.Paget?!

    • crystal says:

      I can’t stop laughing!

    • DreamCatcher says:

The same one who ate Miss St. George’s too! I hope more ladies enter……. maybe a talent scout is required to find the look and then mentor them in talent and presentation and of course communications.

  25. Sharmaine says:

Just so everyone is clear – there is no selection process for the Miss Bermuda Pageant at this time. Those who sign up are those who compete unless they themselves decide to drop out. Also, females who are married and/or have children are not eligible to compete even if they are in the proper age bracket (18 – 25 is the norm). This is an international rule as a Pagaent winner is expected to be able to travel and commit to all activities and appearances during the year of reign without any distraction and overseas the winner usually lives in a designated residence for that year.

    • JT says:

      Southampton and Smiths.

    • Who knows it feels it... says:

…yes true which eliminates many. As a pageant girl myself, this line up is sad and while I don’t condone the blatantly rude comments and it takes courage for some of these ladies to enter, let’s be real…when we get on the World stage, we can’t compete….Gina Swainson days are over!

  26. Oskar says:

The only contestant even slightly close to doing well internationally is Ms. Southampton. She has a great smile, pose and body, although, unfortunately in these type of contests only stick figures win and she is more curvy (which does look better btw.) All the others, looks wise, are average to below average. It seems all you have to do is enter the contest to win your parish….

    • .am says:

This is based on your extensive knowledge of pageantry?

Internationally, Katie would be much better received than Nae. Had say, Scott Tucker been shooting this, I believe your perception of the contestants would be very different.

  27. Ringmaster says:

Have the pageant to find a Miss Bermuda, but to save money and embarrassment forget going to Miss World unless you have a charity in place, an excellent figure, are sporting and have great academics. Oh and to win Miss Bermuda make sure you understand how the winner is picked.

    • Who knows it feels it... says:

Agree…one must know the science and politics of pageantry!!! Many don’t and just enter blindly!

  28. samantha says:

miss smiths has got this in the bag!

  29. paige says:

Ms. Smiths (Katherine Arnfield) is both gorgeous and extremely talented. She’s got this.

  30. swing voter says:

Entering my baby daughter in the Heinz contest was her first AND LAST contest of the sort….18 years on, thankfully she’s got higher pursuits on her mind now

  31. Just saying says:

Did it ever occur to anyone that they did not restrict a weight limit or how beautiful a contestant is?! You can’t force girls to sign up or tell them they can’t enter when there is no one else to fill in the gaps. Its not the organizers fault if you are unhappy with the selection. As Bermudians we should be proud of our young women who step up to the plate and do something rewarding for their future. After all, may the best woman win, which the judges will decide. Its a very fun experience and I think every girl has a right to enter and participate at her own will. With that said, BERMUDA BE HAPPY we even have a pageant and if we supported our own we may have more entries next year.

  32. CommonSense says:

    Smith’s and Southampton.

  33. Ted says:

On an overall rating I would definitely give Denae Simmons one :)

  34. Just Sayin says:

I wish all the contestants the best. And as for you clowns that are calling these beautiful women big. Those are real women’s bodies. Not like those anorexic waifs they call models

  35. Claire says:

Unless you are going to stand up on that stage and compete, then I advise you to keep your mouth shut unless you have anything positive to say. All these girls are already under a lot of pressure, and negative comments will not make it any better.

Good luck to all these beautiful ladies, you are all winners!

  36. Watching On says:

Can we have a People’s Choice Award please? Put the photos up on Facebook and let us judge who wins this award by the most likes.

  37. Honesty says:

SMITHS though?! winner. If she doesn’t then i’m convinced this thing is rigged. I am moving out of Devonshire after these photos.

    • Sharmaine says:

So that’s your observation based on looks or do you know her personally? While she does have a model frame and may very well be a pleasant young lady that doesnt guarantee her a win. If another contestant outshines her on the night of the show in all categories and she wins that would convince me more of a rigged contest…just saying.

  38. Youonlyliveonce says:

All the ladies look amazing….to the critics playing judges…STOP these ladies all stand the chance YOU didn’t…So allow them to shine and rep BDA…If you can’t be kind and wish them the best just shut up and be quiet…They ALL are amazing and Bermudians. Go Miss Sandy’s!!!!

  39. Jim Bob says:

Now I’m not being rude or anything, this is a legitimate question, but why does every other lady have a picture showing some of their body other than Ms. Devonshire?

    • .am says:

Is this like one of those questions women ask.. where they already know the answer but they ask anyway?

You know why. Prefacing it with ‘not trying to be rude or anything’ only makes you look like more of an a#s.

  40. Bermudian Supporter says:

It’s negative comments such as these that discourage people from entering such a competition. I applaud these girls for facing Bermuda and putting themselves out there like this. Bermudians are Bermuda’s worst critics. Always willing to make negative comments just because we have mouths. These young ladies get a standing ovation from me no matter what they look like, we are all beautiful in one way or another. If you do not believe that these young ladies deserve to be in this competition then encourage your sisters, nieces, daughters or cousins to. The shoe would be on the other foot when Bermudians rip a hole in your sister, niece, daughter or cousin’s self esteem as you have some of these ladies. We criticize Bermudians whenever Bermudians are doing something good, and it needs to STOP! Young ladies that are out there thinking about entering however, you feel you are not brave enough to be critisized by Bermuda, do not let these fools change your mind by their ignorant comments. With these type of responses I will be very surprised if there will even be any future competitions. We have had this competition for the past three year, and every year our IGNORANT Bermudian judges get a chance to type their stupid remarks on this site. From year one 12 contestants to year two 8, and now year three 7, it is no question comments of these fools are a deterrent from entering, and these same A$$ HOLES will have ignorant things to say when the competition is scrapped! Bermudians are never satisfied!

So ladies, CONGRATULATIONS to all of you for entering and the best of luck to you all!

I will be there June 23rd cheering you all on, remember to have fun and may the best lady win!

Who cares what these people have to say, they talk about Jesus, therefore you don’t stand a chance them missing you!

Keep your head up and know that you had the courage to do what many will not!

    • Shar says:

WELL SAID! I am in total agreement with the above! Bermuda pleas stop beating one another down! Just like my mama always said, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t anything at all.” While are indeed all entitled to our opinions and preferences there is definitely a more tactful to speak your mind in every situation and to be honest not everything you think needs to be heard!

I myself am also looking forward to June 23rd and wish these ladies all the best in the competition. As a former Miss Bermuda contestant, I urge all you ladies to enjoy the experience, learn as much about yourselves and the others as you can, and make a conscious effort to give back to your community beyond the announcement of a winner no matter what you place (beleive me, people will not forget you). This will be a moment in time that you will never forget and you should definitely be proud of your decision to even desire to want to represent your country in this way.

      GOOD LUCK! :)

  41. Shar says:

Typos: *please *don’t say… *you are entitled… *your opinions… *tactful way *believe

I was typing out of emotion lol
