Teen Singers HNK Release 11-Song Mixtape

May 2, 2013

HNK2Bermuda teen singing sensations HNK yesterday [May 1] launched a new 11-song mixtape — available here – as well as a new video to accompany their original composition “Lost In Your Eyes.”

Berkeley Institute students Hollie Hassell and Keenan Bailey — also known by his stage name Keenan Exodia — recorded the material between January and March.

The mixtape features three original songs — “Lost In Your Eyes”, “Never Let You Go” and “I Wanna Go Home” — and cover versions of “Don’t You Worry Child”, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”, “Down”, “Man On The Moon”, “Wanted”, “Marvin’s Room” and “With You.”

Ms Hassell has been singing since she was a little girl but said she had been too shy to show her material to many people until her cousin Shania Heller arranged a meeting with aspiring performer/songwriter/producer Mr. Bailey earlier this year.

“He then wanted me to record a song with him and I said ‘yes’,” she said. “We both decided to sing ‘With You’ by Chris Brown and that was our first song that we did together.”

HNK’s “Lost In Your Eyes”

Mr. Bailey — who began taking piano lessons at the age of seven — has been writing songs, poems and stories since childhood and hopes to pursue his production skills in Canada after graduating from Berkeley later this year.

A veteran of the Chewstick Foundation’s open shows and their youth programme TWIGS [True Wisdom In Growing Souls], he  hit the local headlines when he wrote and released a tribute song dedicated to murder victim Joshua Robinson.

If feedback on the mixtape is positive, HNK plan to record and release a full album of material before the end of the year.

    -Great Song
-Video could have used more iso shots,
so the guy didnt have to look at the camerman awkwardly waiting on que, watchin the girl sing, he should have been cut out at these points
-the best and most flattering videos are comprised of very quick shots and angles, so not to reveal any awkward angles/gazes.
