Video: Faulkenberry Featured In NYC Concert

faulkenberryBermuda’s own Broadway belter Rebecca Faulkenberry — currently co-starring in Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark – was among the top-flight artists who joined up-and-coming American singer, songwriter and actor Blake Pfeil for “Blake Pfeil is in Love with a Girl Named … Irene” on Sunday [May 12] at Joe’s Pub in New York City.

A celebration of Mr. Pfeil’s music built around the one-time world traveller’s love letters to the four corners of the globe — and a girl named Irene –aside from Ms Faulkenberry the concert featured such Broadway and Off-Broadway stars as Tony Award nominee Robin de Jesus ["In the Heights", "La Cage aux Folles"], Sara Kapner ["Bare"], Elena Ricardo ["Mamma Mia!"] and Julia Mattison ["Godspell"].

Ms Faulkenberry. who attended the Bermuda High School for Girls, appeared in Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society and Bermuda Gilbert & Sullivan Society productions as a youngster.

She made her Broadway debut in the jukebox musical “Rock Of Ages” in 2011 after appearing in the show’s US national touring production.

Mr. Pfeil’s music has been featured at New World Stages, Joe’s Pub, the American Theatre of Actors and New York City’s The Bitter End, where he is a member of the singer/songwriter sessions.

His debut EP “Crossing Connecticut” will be released in June.
