Woman Assaulted During Burglary In Devonshire

The police are investigating a burglary that saw a female occupant assaulted by two intruders early on Sunday morning. The victim attended the hospital for medical assessment and was later released.

A police spokesperson said, “Police are currently investigating a reported burglary that occurred at a Foothills Road, Devonshire residence around 1:55am on Sunday, May 12th. A female occupant was apparently assaulted by two unknown intruders who made good their escape prior to police arrival.

“The victim attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for medical assessment and was later released.

“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have seen any suspicious individuals, vehicles or activity in the Foothills Road, Devonshire area during the early morning hours of Sunday is encouraged to contact PC Helen McHugh at the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.”
