Video: Brush Fire Breaks Out In Ord Road, Paget
[Updated with video] As of 9.15am this morning [June 26] smoke can be seen billowing after a brush fire broke out in the Ord Road, Paget area. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service have arrived on the scene, and are working to extinguish the blaze. Details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.
Update 9.41am: At least two fire trucks responded to the scene, and as of 9.40am the fire appears to be under control, with the firefighters now wetting down various spots. Part of the road remains blocked off at this time.
Update 11.17am: The BFRS said that the fire was on Crada Glen in Paget, and the area of brush fully involved was approximately 50×10. Three vehicles manned with 10 firefighters responded to the call, which took approximately one hour to bring under control.
Firefighters sought to protect a house and car which were only 5 feet away from the fire, and a storage shed was affected by the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
