Legendary Blues Singer To Perform At Folk Club

UntitledLegendary American blues and folk singer-songwriter and guitarist Alice Stuart [pictured] will be performing at the Bermuda Folk Club on Saturday [June 8].

Ms Stuart’s songs have been covered by such performers as Kate Wolf, Irma Thomas and Jackie DeShannon and Grammy Award-winning blues musician Taj Mahal has said she “cut the road that Bonnie Raitt travelled”

The concert will be held at at Spanish Point Boat Club and begins at 8 p.m. Local professional and amateur musicians will open the show.

Her singing, songwriting, and guitar playing secured her invitations to tour nationally and internationally with Van Morrison, Mississippi John Hurt Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Doc Watson, Jerry Ricks, Phil Ochs, and Joan Baez, in addition to television appearances on “The Dick Cavett Show” and the UK’s “Old Grey Whistle Test.”

Admission is $10 for Folk Club members, $10 for non-members. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
