Video Trailers: June 23 Weekend Film Series
A beautiful and heart-warming nature documentary about the birds who inhabit Central Park, and a lush and sensuous biography of artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir will screen at the Weekend Film Series on Sunday [June 23].
Birders: The Central Park Effect [rated G] will screen at 3pm, and after the film, Andrew Dobson, president of the Bermuda Audubon Society, will talk about birds in Bermuda and take audience questions.
Birders, a treat for the eyes and heart, reveals the extraordinary array of wild birds who grace Manhattan’s celebrated patch of green and the equally colourful, full-of-attitude New Yorkers who schedule their lives around the rhythms of migration.

Featuring spectacular wildlife footage of more than 100 species of bird, and elegantly capturing the changing seasons, this lyrical documentary – four years in the making – transports the viewer to a dazzling world that goes all but unnoticed by the 38 million people who visit America’s most famous park each year.
Renoir, set on the French Riviera in 1915, tells the story of the celebrated Impressionist painter, in declining health at age 74, and his middle son Jean, who returns home to convalesce after being wounded in World War I.
