Benefit Concert To Aid With Medical Expenses

July 8, 2013

There will be a Benefit Concert on Saturday, July 20th to help with the medical expenses for a young Bermudian who was involved in a road traffic collision.

On July 23rd, 2012, Joshua Le May had a single vehicle road traffic accident on North Shore Road in Devonshire. He sustained a severe traumatic brain injury [TBI] and as a result, was flown overseas in critical condition to Boston for emergency medical care.

“In Boston, Mr Le May underwent two brain surgeries and one plastic surgery to reconnect the shattered bones in his face”, according to an online event listing. “Joshua did not have major medical insurance and was only working part time with insurance that did cover some of the expenses but there remains an outstanding balance.

“Joshua is still in therapy and volunteers a few days a week as an office junior but is not yet ready to take on full time employment as he is still healing.

“Joshua wants to attend college as soon as he is cognitively ready to do so and has hopes of becoming a social worker to help to impact troubled youth. He wants to gain a BA in Social Work and a MA in Counseling. Keep him in your prayers”.

The benefit concert will be held on Saturday [July 20] at the Earl Cameron Theatre, City Hall at 7.00pm sharp. Regular admission is $40, patrons $75, and donors $100.

The night’s entertainment lineup includes Joy Barnum, LaTosha Codrington [Bermuda Idol 2013], Willard Burch [Former Bermuda Teen Idol], Keith Lee, ‘The Unit’, Troy Anthony and more.
