Bradford Reject Peterborough’s Bid For Wells
Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony today [July 10] confirmed that they placed a bid for Bermuda’s Nahki Wells which was rejected by Bradford City,
Responding to a question on Twitter about whether they would bid for the striker, Mr MacAnthony confirmed that they had bid, and it was turned down.
Bradford’s local press, the Telegraph & Argus, reports that they understand the offer was made just over a fortnight ago by Peterborough director of football Barry Fry to one of City’s co-owners.
“It would also seem unlikely that Wells, who has another two years on his contract, would be interested by another League One club,” said the Telegraph & Argus.
The 23-year-old former Dandy Town player — the first Bermudian to score at the iconic Wembley Stadium — topped all of Bradford’s scorers with 26 goals last season.
