Cricket: Somerset Win 2013 Mini Cup Match

In what could be taken as a good omen by Bermudians who are fans of the red/blue, Somerset won the 2013 Mini Cup Match this afternoon [July 26], which took place at the West Pembroke Primary school field.

Somerset defeated the defending champions St. George’s by 51 runs, Somerset batted first and scored 166/9 in their allotted 25 overs, Jabri Darrell and Deniche Hill were the top scorers for Somerset both scoring 34 runs.

In reply St. George’s were bowled all out for 115, Jhazii Johnson was the top scorer with 21, Oneek Smith added 12 and Marco Basden scored 11.

Final score: Somerset 166/9 St. George’s 115
