“Eagle” Returns Due To Sick Crew Member

On Thursday [July 4] Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre received a satcom call from the US Coast Guard Sail Training Ship “Eagle” which had recently departed Bermuda, indicating that they required to return to Bermuda with a medical emergency.

One of the crew members had suspected appendicitis and required urgent medical attention, so the vessel arrived at the Sea Buoy early Friday morning, and the patient was transferred ashore to a waiting ambulance at Ordnance Island in St George’s.
