Jr Equestrians Conclude Competing In Virginia

The six junior equestrians concluded their three week experience competing in Virginia, Lizzy Maderios, Kristen Bean, Christian and Casey Truran, Jesse Soares and Courtney Bromby competed at the Sandstone Farm 2013 VHSA Associate Hunter Show Series in the town of Millwood.

Their coach Carron Hernandez from Paddington Farm decided to provide the riders with one final challenge by entering the riders on horses and ponies they may not have ridden or shown before. Soares competed on Crossroads Special Edition and Cash, Christian Truran rode Partly Cloudy and Desperado, Bromby was on Desperado, Partly Cloudy and French Twist, Maderios rode Leap of Faith and Majorly Attached, Bean on Majorly Attached and Gould Charisma and finally Casey Truran rode Leap of Faith, Partly Cloudy and Sable Lain.

In the pony classes Christian Truran on Desperado in the Pony Hunter Division won both over fences classes and the flat phase which resulted in Truran and Desperado receiving the Championship for Pony Hunter. For the VHSA Pony Equitation Division which included an over fences and flat phase, Casey Truran successfully won both phases.

Carron further challenged both Bean and Casey Truran and entered them in the Back From The Track Hack Division that is judged on manners and way of go for thoroughbred horses that have raced or trained to race and the Junior Pleasure Division. Bean rode Gould Charisma and Casey rode Sable Lain both horses have just turned three years old and have never been shown before. In the Back from the Track Hack Division Kirsten successfully placed third in both classes and Casey was second and fourth. For the Junior Pleasure Division which consisted of three flat classes, Bean won two of the classes and Casey won one class and he came third and fifth in the other classes from that division. Gould Charisma was named the Champion of the Junior Pleasure Division.

Jesse Soares while riding Crossroads Special Edition was victorious by winning the VHSA Equitation on the Flat 14 and Under class.

The six juniors competed on nine horses and ponies throughout the day and were successful in their overall individual results.
