Julia Coash’s “Rum Jungle” Exhibit Set To Open

July 10, 2013

Painter Julia A. Coash will be showing off her work at an exhibition at the Museum of Bermuda Art later this month, giving anyone with a keen appreciation of the island’s lush vegetation the opportunity to take in an artistic impression of the same via her “Rum Jungle” works.

Julia Coash "Rum Jungle"

Known for her ability to use light and movement to portray familiar objects in new and delightful ways, Coash’s work has long been a staple of the Bermuda art scene, but her return to the island following a sabbatical in Southeast Asia promises to make for new distinct styles of painting unfamiliar to fans of her earlier works.

Already well-known for her unique approach to the canvas, Coash’s updated techniques promise to portray Bermuda’s jungles in a whole new light, with her former modernist style colliding with aspects of Asian brush painting to wonderful effect.

Rum Jungle is set to open at the Museum of Bermuda Art on July 19, 2013 at 5:30 PM, and will run through July 29, 2013.
